Meet Craig Bean, our 2017 Lubbock Heart Ball Survivor

My name is Craig Bean and I am a Heart Survivor! And the beautiful people below are my amazing family. In 2017, I underwent a Quintuplet Bypass - I know -- you probably have no idea what that means. This is a very complicated procedure, in which, I had five arteries leading to my heart that were blocked. But thankfully, I have some amazing doctors who recognized there was something wrong and had me in the hospital to fix it very quickly.

You see, my doctors were trained very well, and they had access to incredible research and technology funded by the American Heart Association. Over 27 million people in the US have been diagnosed with heart disease - they're not all like mine There are all types of contributing factors. But, thanks to all the people who donate and help fund the work of the American Heart Association, everyday people like me are able to get the treatment we need - from early detection to lifesaving procedures.

So thank you for helping me and others like me spend more time with their loved ones. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at this year's Heart Ball.

Sincerely, Craig Bean
